I Am Malala: How One Girl Stood Up for Education and Changed the World (Young Readers Edition)

Reviewed by Alexandra Glick

I Am Malala. This is my story.

“One child, one teacher, one book, one pen can change the world.” Those inspiring words changed the lives of many young girls who are unable and want to have a good education. Her self written book called, I am Malala tells all about her life and her struggle for girls rights in having an education. She experiences undoable hardships which she couldn’t control. The violence increased by minute and it resulted in Malala getting shot right above her eye. This didn’t stop her from persisting. She continued to reach out to girls in Afghanistan and support any girls all around the world. Now, Malala is known everywhere and is a hero to all, men and women.

I would recommend this book to any girls of all ages. Everyone deserves to know Malala’s inspiring story, and be aware of what is actually happening in the world.“I raise up my voice—not so I can shout, but so that those without a voice can be heard...we cannot succeed when half of us are held back.” Malala’s inspiring words touched billions of people’s hearts.
